The Katmen
Brighton’s rock ‘n’ rollers were out in force for this trio comprised of a Stray Cat and two members of Imelda May’s band. From the opening numbers it was clear that the group were fully versed in the roots of Sun Studios’ legendary sound, with originals closely resembling the likes of the Johnny Burnette and Elvis covers. New single ‘When The Drink’s Dried Up’ recalled The Blue Caps, and Darrel Higham’s guitar work echoed Eddie Cochran throughout the show. Slim Jim Phantom took the lead vocal for ‘Rock This Town’ before a storming encore that ended a great night.
