Brighton University trio to feature on Autumnwatch
Two Brighton University academics and a PhD student have been working with the BBC on the new series of the nature programme Autumnwatch.
Dawn Scott, assistant head of the university’s School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, will feature in two films on urban foxes and will take part in a live broadcast.
She will be joined by her colleague Bryony Tolhurst and PhD student Naomi Charman.
The Brighton University team and Autumnwatch presenter Chris Packham will follow the lives of two urban fox families in the series which starts on Tuesday 29 October on BBC2.
Britain has an estimated 33,000 urban foxes and they have become a common sight in many cities.
The BBC has been working with the university to show how foxes can co-exist with people.
Last year Dr Scott and Dr Tolhurst appeared on Foxes Lives: Wild in the City on Channel 4 in which she tracked and followed urban foxes in Brighton.
