Celebcity: Peter Andre’s new fragrances
Miley Cyrus’ biggest fan is from Brighton, Peter Andre’s new fragrances, & our city’s Da Vinci
Artistic surprise
Our favourite graffiti artist Banksy is currently across the pond, transforming the streets of New York with a month-long residency of whacky art stunts and murals popping up all over the city. From a New York delivery truck converted into a mobile garden (including a rainbow, waterfall and butterflies) to a one-off stall in Central Park selling authentic, signed canvases of his work (unbeknown to passers-by), this elusive artist, who has never confirmed his identity, is clearly making his presence known. Now’s the time to pay a visit the Big Apple and check into the Nyma!
Peter’s new smell
Stop press – local lad Peter Andre has launched two brand new fragrances for the modern lady: Forever and Forever Young. The scents, bottled in delightful shades of pink, were debuted as part of a UK press tour which saw Pete visit the glamorous towns of Watford, Stoke, Leeds, York, Derby, Northampton, Portsmouth and Camberley. Though we didn’t have Pete down as ‘Le Nez’ of Brighton, he certainly could do with sweetening the air a bit after ex-wife Katie Price’s recent revelations. The Brighton-born glamour-model/ business woman spoke scathingly of Andre (though perhaps he should count his lucky stars he’s not the ‘disturbing’ Alex Reid) saying she never wanted to get back with him after their split, contrary to popular opinion! Perhaps worse than this, however, the Pricey also let the cat out of the bag with regards to Pete’s shortcomings; apparently the ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer took to stuffing his shoes full of tissue in order to measure up against his ex-wife! We assume he won’t be sending her a bottle of ‘Forever’ this Christmas…

The special one
Local painter Robert Burns has taken up the title of Brighton’s ‘Da Vinci’ after painting pictures of celebrities
in his trademark Renaissance style. Burns has re-imagined the likes of Russell Brand and José Mourinho as religious figures and renaissance stars. Talking to the local paper recently he explained: “I get inspired when I see a celebrity offering themselves in a Renaissance pose. I don’t follow football but when I found out José Mourinho calls himself ‘The Special One’ I knew I had to do him next. He is photogenic. There was this photograph and I thought ‘he looks just like the Salvator Mundi photo. Salvator Mundi means saviour of the world – I think it suits him very well.” We’re inclined to agree.
