Jake Bugg

A vocally flawless rendition of ‘There’s A Beast And We All Feed It’ opened Jake Bugg’s set and instantly gave him the undivided attention the sold out Brighton Centre. He continued through his set integrating songs from upcoming album ‘Shangri La’ with classic crowd pleasers from his debut. Nothing about the act distracted from his undeniable talent; most of the evening was simply Jake and the guitar alone on stage. Acoustic numbers such as ‘Country Song’ and ‘Broken’ were well interspersed with the up tempo beats of songs such as ‘Seen It All’, ‘Trouble Town’ and ‘Two Fingers’ to keep the crowd engaged, and by the closing number of ‘Lightning Bolt’, everybody, young or old, were on their feet. His whole set was effortlessly executed and justified the hugely successful year he’s had. Faultless.
