A Worthy Worthing World Record

Toy making had to take a break on Saturday 7th December as so many ‘elves’ turned up to Steyne Gardens in Worthing to take part in a World Record!

1,276 ‘elves’ were in attendance to help Robert Luff Estate Agents break the World Record for the most people dressed as elves in one place.

The previous record was set in November last year in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, with 762 of Santa’s helpers getting together.

The main aim of the event was to raise money for St Barnabas House Hospice and Chestnut Tree Children’s Centre.

Local companies helped out by donating elf hats, complete with ears, to people who took part in the attempt.

The rules were very clear, everyone attending had to wear either red or green tops.

There may be some concerned that this record could cause a delay in the arrival of their Christmas presents this year. Luckily, Father Christmas was on hand to reassure everyone that procedures were in place to prevent the preparation of presents from being postponed.
