Celeb city: Adele’s Brighton property & TV’s Julie Graham

TV’s Julie Graham, Noel Sullivan on stage, Katie Price in hospital & Adele weathers the storm

Breaking boundaries
Local actress Julie Graham is back on our screens with ITVs popular codebreaker show, The Bletchley Circle. The second series of the drama sees Graham as one of five former Bletchley Park codebreakers who now continue to solve crimes after the end of World War II. Talking to The Radio Times recently, Julie insisted that The Bletchley Circle was “breaking boundaries” by pioneering female leads, and that it was “about bloody time”. We certainly concur Ms Graham, long may it last!

Happy new year?
Sounds like it’s been a bad start to the year for Katie Price, as the glamour model has spent time in hospital over the festive season for a mystery illness. The 35-year-old local celeb posted a shocking selfie on Twitter recently, documenting her drastic weightloss following three admissions into hospital. Katie celebrates her first wedding anniversary to husband Kieran Hayler this month and gave birth to their first child Jett back in August. Get well soon, Katie.

There’s no stopping Adele
It’s been a ‘stormy’ time for Brighton based singer Adele recently, with her beachside property on Millionaire’s Row being battered by 10ft waves over Christmas! Adele, alongside her celebrity neighbours including David Walliams, Nick Berry, Heather Mills, Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim, saw her home under threat from some of the strongest gales we’ve seen for years.

Overall, however, 2013 was quite a good year for the singer. Last February she collected an Oscar for her brilliant Bond theme ‘Skyfall’, performing to a rapturous audience at Hollywood’s biggest night. She followed that up with her NINTH (count ‘em) Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, and, to top it all, the 25-year-old multiple platinum selling artist has just been awarded an MBE. Collecting her award from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, the singer looked just gorgeous in a midnight blue Stella McCartney prom dress worth £945. Rarely seen in public, Miss Adele Adkins MBE declined to speak to the press after collecting her award. How amazing would it be to have Adele perform to her adopted home crowd at Brighton Pride 2014? Adele, if you’re reading this, stick Saturday 2 August in your diary for the UK’s biggest and best Pride event!
