Good Energy asks Brighton to ‘Switch for Good’
Green electricity supplier, Good Energy, has identified Brighton as one of the most sustainably focused cities in the UK for a new campaign asking people to ‘Switch for Good’.
The UK based 100% renewable electricity company will launch a major new advertising campaign in the city this month, highlighting the benefits of switching. Good Energy hopes that the campaign will chime with local residents; thirty three per cent of the city population has been identified as ‘ethical consumers’, compared to the UK average of twenty per cent.
Good Energy Founder and CEO, Juliet Davenport OBE, said: “Good Energy is a different kind of energy company and Brighton is a different kind of city. Our electricity is made by a growing band of independent generators using the power of British sun, wind and water. We know from our research that Brighton is home to many ethical consumers and we hope that they will enjoy finding out more about Good Energy.”
The campaign, which uses the strapline ‘Switch for Good’ will include outdoor advertising and digital advertising at the train station.
Good Energy sources power from over 500 UK renewable generators, including local community energy groups, Ovesco and Brighton Energy Co-operative and its own wind farm in Delabole, Cornwall.
Chris Rowland from OVESCO said: ‘It is our vision to build partnerships to increase the supply of renewable energy and see an energy revolution take place in the UK. OVESCO currently sells the electricity exported from our community owned photovoltaic sites to Good Energy, because they are committed to sourcing 100% renewable power for their customers.”
Damian Tow, Director of Brighton Energy Co-operative, said: “When we installed our first solar PV array in 2012, we chose to work with Good Energy due to their commitment to providing 100% renewable electricity and their supportive approach to us as a start-up business. Since then we have always found their customer service friendly & helpful.”
Good Energy recently won the Which? Customer Satisfaction Survey for energy suppliers for the third year in a row and best green electricity supplier by the UK’s leading ethical and environmental magazine, Ethical Consumer.
