James Bannon: Running With The Firm

Twenty six years after the gritty film ‘ID’ was made, about  a young undercover PC tasked with infiltrating the top boys of Millwall’s Bushwacker hooligans, its writer and protagonist James Bannon has turned his story into a compelling one-man show. The well-paced production perfectly conveyed the menace and fear involved in his operation and his performance was brutally honest and surprisingly moving, as he relived the intense pressure of his situation. The detail was spot on and the gladiatorial feel of an 80s football match was perfectly conveyed with the palpable tension leading up to a ruck. A superbly executed piece.
