Brighton firm’s wartime documentary hits national TV
Brighton filmmakers’ take on a true-life story of a daring wartime escape will be show on national television.
The First Great Escape was created by Back to Back productions, which is based in Clifton Hill, Brighton.
It tells the remarkable story of 29 British officers who set out to dig their way to freedom from their POW camp in 1918.
The story later inspired the more famous events of 1944, which led to the Great Escape film starring Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson.
The documentary will be shown on Sunday (March 23) on Five at 9pm, immediately after the 1963 classic movie.
