Trevor Sorbie Brighton celebrates its 10th anniversary
Cutting edge
When Trevor Sorbie opened his salon on Nile Street in Brighton in April 2004 (his second UK salon), he described the decision to open in the city by saying: “People ask why I chose Brighton as the location for the salon and I say it’s simple – I love Brighton so I went with my heart.” In the intervening ten years, the team at Trevor Sorbie Brighton has made him proud by building a brilliant business and winning a shelf-load of industry awards and accolades, proving that Trevor’s instinct for opening a salon in Brighton was a good one.
Trevor is a past master at spotting and developing hairdressing talent; and each one of his Brighton team has been handpicked, trained and tested by the man himself. The salon’s multi-talented technical team all hold the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Degree and between them, have won the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Men’s Image Award and the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Young Colourist of the Year. Meanwhile, their highly dedicated stylist team have worked with the world’s top fashion designers at Fashion Week shows around the world, including Kenzo, Chloé, Hussein Chalayan and Preen. They have one a raft of industry awards including the British Hairdressing Award for Best Newcomer and the Creative Head Magazine’s IT List Fashionista Award.
The Trevor Sorbie Brighton philosophy has always been to take all of this industry expertise, knowledge and training and to use it to make every clients hair look and feel its best and to provide each client with hair care individually designed around their look and lifestyle.
A very different, yet important side of the Trevor Sorbie Brighton salon is My New Hair; a not for profit service launched by Trevor himself to support those clients suffering medical hair loss. Hair loss can affect people on many different levels and Trevor created My New Hair to provide clients with support and inspire them to have the hair they need and deserve. Trevor describes the service as a psychological medicine for women suffering from hair loss through illness. He says: “It’s the missing link in giving women back their hair – hair that looks natural, attractive and feminine to give them back a little of the confidence to face the world.”
Trevor Sorbie Brighton Salon Manager, Alison Stevens is the salon’s My New Hair specialist. She says:
“As well as cutting and styling the wigs, it’s really nice to offer clients the chance to just come in and have a chat with us. All consultations with me are confidential and I am on hand to offer advice and reassurance.”
