Latest TV perform Abba’s Waterloo on Brighton Dome stage to mark 40th anniversary of Eurovision win
Abba fans took to the Brighton Dome stage to re-enact the Swedish quartet’s Eurovision song contest winning performance.
Forty years to the day after the super group won the contest, Latest TV joined members of the public in facing their Waterloo – by singing and dancing to the song in the same place as Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Anni-Frid.
Dressed in their best 1970s garbs, our very own Val Aviv and Richard Shayler decided to Take A Chance on some very risque dance moves – but we reckon they pulled it off.
But what do you think?
It was part of a series of events that Brighton Dome hosted this weekend to mark the anniversary.
As well as the singalong, on Sunday Abba fanatic Christopher Green delivered a party performance lecture.
Those that attended learned more about the history of the group and their cultural significance, experienced Abba’s finest moments on film, and witnessed some extraordinary cover versions of the songs that didn’t scoop the coveted prize that year.
