Brighton Marina: Kirsty Pollard on Marina Studios
The city’s new dance and arts charity, Marina Studios, are teaming up with the prestigious Midlands ‘School Of Theatre Excellence’ to bring top class musical theatre opportunities to the beautiful Marina Studios dance complex at Brighton Marina. The partnership offers an exciting two week Easter camp for children aged 6+ and adults.
Week one (Apr 8-10) involves two days of musical theatre training, including one-to-one singing training, culminating in a third and final day working with leading West End stars to produce performed excerpts from top musicals Hairspray, Wicked and Les Miserables.
Week two (Apr 15-17) involves three days of intense and diverse urban dance training with top choreographers. The styles covered include house, poppin’, breakin, parkour, capoeira and much more.
The new musical theatre programme will launch after the Easter holidays on Saturday afternoons from 12pm-4.30pm every week at Marina Studios.
Programme scholarship and bursary opportunities will be launched to support talented young people – including our Boys Musical Theatre Development Programme.
