New Hove bar and restaurant teams up with Brighton children’s charity
A new bar and restaurant in Hove is teaming up with one of Brighton most popular charities.
Crafty Chooks, which recently opened on the site of the old Tin Drum in Second Avenue in Hove, has becoming a fundraising partner with the Rockinghorse sick children’s charity.
It aims to hold a series of events over the next year in support of Rockinghorse, which supports the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit in Brighton.
The first event is a gala night on Thursday 15 May when the bar and rotisserie will donate £1 for every charity special meal ordered from the menu.
Leo Day, a director of the Golden Lion Group which owns Crafty Chooks, said: “We’re really excited to be working with the Rockinghorse for our first year at our new restaurant.
“We’re a family-run business, so very much value the incredible work carried out at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.
“All of our venues are well-known for supporting important local charities.
“We’ve had a fantastic reaction to our new venue and we’re hoping our customers will help us really make a difference to Rockinghorse funds this year.”
Golden Lion as spent £250,000 refurbishing the premises.
Rockinghorse head of fundraising Analiese Doctrove said: “Rockinghorse is delighted to be part of this exciting new restaurant in Hove.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Crafty Chooks and their customers for choosing to support us.
“They will help us to continue to make a real difference at both the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit.”
Crafty Chooks, which has a rotisserie serving free-range chicken and a craft beer selection, opened just before Easter.
