Tony Parsons

Tony Parsons was interviewed by Barry Forshaw as part of Brighton’s crime festival, Dark and Stormy. The novelist spoke of his switch from literary fiction to crime writing. Parsons has a huge respect for his new genre and stated that the decision to turn to crime fiction was not one made lightly. He described his Sunday Times number one bestseller, The Murder Bag, as the book he wanted to write; ‘the thriller with a heart’. The subjects covered in the hour included pornography (Parsons is against it), his days writing for NME, his own writing routines and insights into the industry. A highly engaging and entertaining evening.
