The 26th Sussex Business Awards
The twenty sixth Sussex Business Awards are open for business following a series of launches in Brighton, Crawley and Uckfield. Attendees heard previous winners discuss what winning an award has meant for them, as well as judges highlighting what they look for in entries. Three new sponsors and a new chair of the judges were also announced.
Taking over the Chair from Peter Field, Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, will be Mike Herd, the executive director of Sussex Innovation Centre and Sussex Businessperson of the Year (2000). Mike was also winner of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion in 2013.
Awards organiser Caroline Brown commented: “Peter has been a brilliant ambassador for the awards and we are really grateful for everything he has done for us over the years. We are delighted to welcome Mike as our new chair; he has experienced these awards from finalist to winner to sponsor. Having spent around 16 years helping all sorts of businesses to grow, we are confident he is going to make a brilliant chair.”
Celebrating business excellence across Sussex, the awards are the longest established scheme of its kind in the county, and it is the one that everyone wants to win! Applicants have until 29 August 2014 to prepare their submissions, and the winners will be announced at The Grand Brighton on 10 December 2014.
