Fireco Ltd welcomes new MD, Drew Hoggatt

Brighton-based Fireco, leading supplier of fire safety products and systems, is excited to announce the appointment of Mr Drew Hoggatt as their Managing Director.

Drew’s past experience includes his position as Managing Director of Paxton Access Ltd, a leading manufacturer of electronic access control systems. Drew successfully made Paxton a market leading company with 150 employees and a turnover of £17m, until his resignation after 21 years in 2011.

Drew has since been working as Director at Ecomicro Ltd, a provider of consultancy services and heading up CDVI in France, an international company specialising in the manufacture of locking and access solutions.

The team at Fireco are very excited to welcome Drew to his new role. Drew comments: “I’m looking forward to the challenge at Fireco. We have a good strategy and an excellent team.”

Neil Purssey, now Chairman at Fireco states: “I am relieved that Drew has joined, having met him four years ago I wanted him then to make my company the mini ‘Volkswagen’ that he had made Paxton.”

The news comes after Neil’s move from MD to Chairman following his spectacular win at the recent Brighton & Hove Business Awards (BAHBAs) for MD of the Year. Neil impressed the BAHBA judges with his drive, passion and creativity by establishing Fireco as a leader in the Fire Safety industry.

Fireco was established in 1994 with Neil’s invention of Dorgard. Dorgard is a wireless fire door retainer that uses patented acoustic technology to automatically close the door at the sound of a fire alarm, preventing the dangerous spread of smoke and fire.
