Brighton and Hove businesses warned of dialling code changes

The bells of change are ringing – at least when it comes to dialling codes.

From October, everyone in the Brighton and Hove area making a local call will have to put 01273 at the start of the number.

The reason for the change is that there is so much demand for new numbers that the allocation is set to run out in the near future.

A spokesman for BT said by requiring the area code to be used before the telephone number numbers beginning 0 or 1 can now be issued.

But not everyone seems that bothered, as Latest TV’s Jeff Moody discovered.
