End Of The Rainbow
A standing ovation at the Theater Royal was proof enough that Tracie Bennett’s performance is a crowd thrilling tour-de-force. Her portrayal of Judy Garland is extraordinary, the mere physicality breathtaking enough, without the voice – but that she has too. The play, and it is a play, is strong, well crafted and compelling. Peppered with great songs it can’t fail to entertain but it is the tragedy that takes the play to the top and a great performance by Hilton McRae as Anthony her pianist takes the whole production up there. Bennet is a star of extraordinary quality.
