Brighton & Hove Registrars offer their advice on planning your weddings and ceremonies in Brighton and Hove
If you are planning your wedding day, your civil partnership, want to convert your civil partnership to marriage or arrange another celebration such as a renewal of vows or naming ceremony, Brighton & Hove Registrars will help you discover what is on offer to you in Brighton and Hove.
Our beautiful, fun and vibrant city has venues full of character and charm, attracting both local couples and those from further afield. Many visitors fall in love with our city (many also fall in love IN our city!) and choose to return here to celebrate their special day. It has a special place in people’s hearts.
We are proud to offer a range of 35 ceremony venues, from our ‘in-house’ venues in Brighton Town Hall to the extraordinary Royal Pavilion or several grand seafront hotels, Brighton Pier and the stunning Brighton Bandstand, the former stately home of Stanmer House and many more personal and unusual options.
In the classically designed Brighton Town Hall there are four unique licensed ceremony rooms. The Regency Room and Fitzherbert Room are tastefully decorated with heritage colours, antique furniture and crystal chandeliers. They both have good access, situated on the ground floor of the Town Hall.
The Regency Room’s capacity is for up to 50 guests (34 seated) and is fully air conditioned. The Fitzherbert Room’s capacity is for 8 guests.
The Council Chamber is situated at the top of the central staircase of the Town Hall on the third floor. The Council Chamber is a beautiful oak panelled room with original features such as stained glass windows, heavy wood carved leather chairs and leather inlaid desks. The Council Chamber’s capacity is for 120 guests.
For a history fix and maybe even a spot of ghost hunting while you’re getting married, we recommend The Old Police Cells in the basement of Brighton Town Hall. The Old Police Cells’ capacity is for 30 guests.
Whether you are planning a small, intimate ceremony or a large wedding with many guests, there will be a venue to suit you.
