Richard Herring: Lord of the Dance Settee
Lord of the Dance Settee found Herring taking a break from weightier subjects (his last show was about death) to generally muck about a bit on stage; mixing gags from earlier shows with stories that may seem familiar to Herring aficionados/anoraks. This isn’t a bad thing, as it freed him from the expectations of a real theme (though childhood popped up frequently) and meant each routine had to succeed on its own terms. This is a polished and accessible show which would be a perfect introduction to new fans while giving the old ones a nostalgic treat, too.
