Lippy

Have you ever lost someone through suicide? Did it leave you confused? Lippy explores the mystery of four women from Leixlip, County Kildare, who in 2001 decided to starve to death barricaded in their house. Why ‘Lippy’? Because a lip-reader was hired to decipher their last recorded conversation, on CCTV, thus we learn a lot about the power and pitfalls of lip reading. This purposely disjointed production effectively communicates the disorientating effect suicide has on the survivors. It is a highly innovative production featuring excellent use of technology. We are confronted by their destruction, and we question our own existence.
