Shalamar

Do you remember watching Top of the Pops in June 1982, when Jeffrey Daniel performed the ‘moonwalk’? Then you should have been there to honour the longevity of soul survivors Shalamar. Whilst they are best remembered for disco hits, there is much more to them. They benefit greatly from having three strong vocalists; Jeffrey, Howard Hewett and new edition Carolyn Griffey all take turns to shine. They delivered all of the hits, and some new material, accompanied by slick yet playful dance routines, and even some body-poppin’. The whole evening was right in the groove, leaving a forty-something crowd on a midweek high.
