The Beta Males: Happenstance

This slick professional and enjoyably silly sketch group have woven together a collection of sketches and characters that at first seem separate but as they unfold seamlessly dovetail and unfold into a full length narrative. Carefully avoiding cliché and mining original ideas from delightfully askew angles that offer a balance in feeling both mainstream appealing and also not in any way revisiting old territory – the four performers committed every step of the way. Highlights included a game of ‘chicken’ with the audience, and a couple of cheap purile punchlines didn’t sit with the quality of the rest of the show. All in all, a delight to have a fully formed top notch sketch show in our midst.
