Max and Ivan: The End

The dizzyingly talented duo presented a colourful menagerie of residents from Sudley-on-Sea, and the speed and skill involved in switching characters/voices/mannerisms so quickly and completely was impressive, and often hilarious. The motto of the town is ‘Don’t go on the beach’ and the duo witness a witch drowning, exemplifying the absurdly comic but endearing doomed townsfolk. I won’t give away too much of the plot since they return to the Studio Theatre in October and you should go, but it is a well written tale with real dramatic beats, as well as a hectic pace and a strong hit-rate for gags. The creative and imaginative piece was an all-round success that should go down a storm in Edinburgh.
