Margaret Thatcher – Queen of Soho

Mat Tedford deftly sends up the Iron lady, with a superbly camp impersonation. Watching the show is rather confusing, like listening to the crazed remembrances of a senile relative. Thatcher is relating her version of the 80s and imagining herself the heroine. The problem is it can’t make its mind up. Are we supposed to cheer for her or laugh at her? The format is basically sketches with barbed satirical jokes aimed squarely at Tory values both past and present. Warning: no ex-prime minster is safe. Also there are some disco songs thrown in to increase the camp value.
