Big Cheer for Amaze

Both big and lesser known names came out to support the local charity Amaze which provides support for the families of children with special needs. Although occasionally erring to the generic the standard of stand up was rock solid. Compere Jason Cook was perfect for the evening; friendly but in control and some of his engaging stories were real highlights. Acts Justin Moorhouse and Jenny Éclair brought a huge amount of energy to the room. Although 51, Éclair has a total lack of propriety that’s exhilarating. Simon Evans and Ian Moore both had their moments but were guilty of some clichéd middle class grumbling. All in all a fine evening of comedy for a very fine cause.
