The Lone Bellow

The Brooklyn-based country rockers’ set of stomping southern boogie delighted a hyped-up crowd in a room that often felt too small to contain their combined vocals and powerful chords. Lead vocalist Zach Williams acted as a preacher, with the audience as his choir on the gentler gospel-flavoured ballads, confidently stopping faster songs mid-flow to bear witness then building to a grandstanding finale.

The pace eased for a delightful three-part harmony section before returning to the footstomping bar room anthems. An end-of-tour encore with equally well-received opening sister act Joseph felt like the whole evening had been leading up to this celebratory, euphoric collaboration.
