Laura Mvula

Have you ever been to a performance and been so overwhelmed with happiness, love, and humour that you want to keep going back for more?
For me the only solution is to download Laura’s new album when it comes out on the 17th July #TheDreamingRoom.
Laura’s singing voice is her mother tongue, it pulls together her emotions and stories, then plays them out so beautifully and effortlessly, you’re left standing (yes actually standing!) in awe as you realise that the band is no longer playing, and that you’ve been captured by the soothingly perfect tones and elegant timings of Laura’s vocal love for her audience.
If you haven’t seen a live performance before then don’t start with Laura, because if you start with Laura, you will have to end with Laura, because Laura Mvula is so captivating, so generous with her smile and humour, that no one you see live again will compare to the personable performance that Laura and her family give. Joined on stage by a magnificently talented group of friends that include her sister and her younger brother, the band hold the stage wonderfully well in helping Laura tell her love story – “kiss my ass!” she shouts before belting out a post relationship tune!
Stories, smiles, and song – my iTunes collection just grew, but no where near as big as Laura’s smile.
