A Novel Idea

Fresh comedy comes in all shapes and sizes. ‘Fresh’ is new, and that’s interesting and a bit of a risk. With Edinburgh preview season well and truly upon us, as well as the mold of comedy frequently breaking free of the tried and tested format of a man and a mic there’s plenty to stretch the imagination and get stuck into.Funmbi_website%20pic
Over at Komedia, highlights this week are two double bills. Tuesday sees the pairing of the anarchic Alfie Brown and fun-loving Damien Clark. Come back on Friday and you’ll catch the hotly tipped Pierre Novellie and accolade attention-grabbing outsider Funmbi Omotayo.
Pop over to the Caroline of Brunswick on Thursday for laid back veteran Carl Donnelly, followed by new sketch comedy from Twins.
And for truly fresh-faced acts, check out the mix of comedians just starting out and old hands with new material at Comedy Open Mic on Friday.
