Tom Jones
A mere 28 years after, as a fresh faced 21-year-old deployed to Las Vegas with the RAF, I decided not to watch him perform I sat in awe on the green, green grass of Hove as the legendary Sir Tom Jones proved that some things definitely do improve with age.
It’s not that he would have been bad back in 1988, worse than that, he was uncool.
This man stood before me was the polar opposite of that, this man could freeze lava with his cool and melt icecaps with his hotness.
All of his hits were there but all reworked to produce an evening of dirty blues that compelled all but the most rigid to dance.
One of the true greats, this was a gloriously entertaining evening that warmed the soul, I just need to make sure I don’t wait another 28 years to see him again.
