Koko Kayinda & the Congo All Stars

As part of Brighton’s weekend celebration of all things African, we were treated to a night of music, dance and song. African Night Fever DJ’s with their vintage Congolese soukous got everyone moving. As my first introduction to live African music they were totally intoxicating. The vibe and set were exhilarating and energetic. The scores varied and colourful. Koko Kayinda did not disappoint either, engaging with his audience truly a master percussionist. Everyone including me (surprisingly) had their dancing shoes on.
