Comedy: It’s a kind of magic…
He’s an anarchist comedian of the first order. Given a wide berth by the television companies and yet voted the 15th greatest comedian of all time on Channel 4’s 2007 ‘100 Greatest Stand-ups’, Jerry Sadowitz is a performer of contradictions but never compromises.
Combining magic and aggressive comedy, seemingly fuelled by self-hatred and vitriol – as well as incredible card tricks – each show is unique from the next as Sadowitz turns his attention to whatever has caught his mind’s attention or wandered into his cross-hairs.

Sadowitz is vehemently careful with the reproduction of his shows and jokes (with many apparently stolen by the more mainstream comedians), meaning that you won’t find him on YouTube or a part of the regular Christmas DVD release posse. In fact, despite regular rumours of DVD releases to come there are none out there. Sadowitz has commented on the lack of material from him available: “If I had my way, there would be nothing out there whatsoever, and there would be nothing on Earth after I die to show that I was here at all. But old age and heating bills might deny me that one.”
Catch this rare treat, and brace yourself for the raw and unleashed show that telly couldn’t hold.
