Brighton Poem-A-Thon For Refugees

The Brighton Poem-A-Thon started with one idea: how can poets help refugees? From that seed, today’s event grew, bringing 60 poets to sign up to read for eight minutes each, and raising a total to date of over £28,000 in aid of the Refugee Council.

A wide variety of talent and topics graced the stage over 10 hours, and fun and fund-raising was had by all. Well-known local names rubbed shoulders with up-and-coming poets, against a vibrant and creative atmosphere as the audience enjoyed both the poetry and the knowledge that something special was happening in order to help others.
