Brighton woman missing since August

Concern is increasing about the well-being of a Brighton woman Josephine Giglia who has been missing since Wednesday 24 August.

Josephine, 50, also known as Josephine Birkinshaw, lives in Rustington Road with her husband and two teenage sons and has not been in contact with them since August.

Vera and Joseph Giglia, Josephine’s parents, are concerned that their daughter has failed to contact any of the family.

They said: “We are very worried for our daughter Jo. We want to know that she is alright and ask that she please contact us or another family member as soon as possible. The whole family are worried for her.”

Detective Inspector Lee Horner said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Josephine’s welfare. We do not need to know where Josephine is, but I’d urge her to get in touch so we can reassure her family and friends that she is safe and well.”

Josephine was described as being white, 5ft 1in tall, very long dark brown hair, with a fair complexion.

Police said that they had reason to believe that she was still in the Brighton area.

Josephine, or anyone who may have seen her, is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 immediately.
