Film: The Three Musketeers 3D (12A)
Director: Paul W.S. Anderson
All terribly good fun with crashing swordplay and a cast that’s certainly not hard on the eye. Did you have to graduate from grooming school to earn your scabbard in them days? This marks the return to the classic tale of the Three Musketeers, three heroes who have seen better times but refuse to part ways with their honour.
When a plot to overthrow the throne and spark a war across Europe comes to light, along with a certain young chap by the name of D’Artagnan close to hand and eager to help, the ragged roustabouts roundly rouse themselves to do all they can to save the day. Will the dastardly Cardinal have his way? Will the beautiful but duplicitous M’Lady triumph with her subversion and spying? Will wagons go rolling and barrels flying as our heroes find themselves surrounded in a comely tavern by faceless guards? More than likely. What a fabulous jape!
Starring Matthew MacFadyen, Luke Evans and Ray Stevenson as our gallant heroes, Logan Lerman taking a break from being Percy Jackson as D’Artagnan, Milla Jovovich as M’Lady De?Winter, Orlando Bloom as Duke of Buckingham and Christopher Waltz as Cardinal Richelieu.
