Brighton exhibition designed to challenge mental health stigma

An exhibition of photographs has been held in Brighton to challenge the stigma associated with mental illness.

It was organised by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust which treats people with mental health, specialist learning disability and drink and drug problems in Brighton and Hove.

The pictures were submitted to the trust’s Positive Image photography competition.

The trust said that a photo entitled Reading Between the Lines by Chris West was its judging panel’s winning choice.

The public’s choice, based on online voting, was Through the Looking Glass by Ellen Grace.

The competition entries were shown as a rolling slideshow at an event celebrating World Mental Health Day last Monday (10 October) at  the Brighthelm Community Centre in North Road, Brighton.
