Two die in Hove motorbike crash
Two men died in a motorbike crash in Hove in the early hours of this morning.
One – a man aged 44 from Hove – was riding the motorbike and the other – a 28-year-old from Shoreham – was his pillion passenger.
The accident happened at the bottom of King George VI Avenue, known locally as Snakey Hill, just before 2am.
The rider appears to have lost control of the vehicle shortly after passing the junction with Goldstone Crescent. The two men died at the scene.
The road, which is the main route out of Hove during the morning rush hour, was closed until shortly before 7am. Much of the early peak period traffic had to use Woodland Drive to reach the A27 Brighton bypass.
Sussex Police traffic officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
