Man suffers broken jaw in Brighton seafront robbery

A man suffered a broken jaw when he was attacked and robbed of his Blackberry mobile phone and Armani watch on Brighton seafront at the weekend.

The 26-year-old was walking in King’s Road, opposite the Hilton Brighton Metropole, when two men blocked his path and one of them demanded money.

The attacker pushed the man into bushes and, as he lay on the ground, kicked him in the face several times.

He stole his phone and watch then headed off towards Hove.

The incident happened at about 1am on Saturday (15 October).

Sussex Police said that the offender was described as a slim white man, aged in his late twenties or early thirties, 5ft 11in tall, clean shaven and with short dark hair.

He was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and light-coloured trousers.

The second man was described as white, in his mid thirties, about 6ft 2in tall, of medium build, clean shaven and with short dark hair.

He was wearing a long grey button-up coat and dark trousers.

Detective Constable Brad Lozynski said: “This was a violent attack which has left the victim with a broken jaw.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen the two men or has information about the robbery to contact police.”

Witnesses are asked to call Sussex Police on 0845 6070999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
