Woman suffers head injuries after being hit by bus in Brighton
A woman suffered serious head injuries when she was hit by a bus in Brighton yesterday (Tuesday 18 October).
The 22-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton for treatment. Her condition was said not to be life threatening.
The accident happened in Western Road, Brighton, opposite Churchill Square, at about 4.50pm.
No one on the Brighton and Hove Buses double decker bus, which was heading towards Hove, was hurt.
Sussex Police said this morning: “At 4.50pm on Tuesday 18 October a westbound double decker bus was in collision with a 22-year-old local woman in Western Road, Brighton, opposite Churchill Square.
“The woman was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious head injuries and is still detained there.”
Officers are investigating the accident, including the suggestion that the woman walked out in front of the bus, and asked any witnesses to contact Sussex Police on 0845 6070999.
