Spamalot

Spamalot is set to thrill audiences at Theatre Royal Brighton this Christmas

For many of us, a family trip to the theatre at Christmas is as traditional as Christmas pudding, tinsel and repeats of Morecambe And Wise on the television. It is sometimes a challenge though, to find a show which the whole family will really enjoy. The international smash hit musical comedy Spamalot is the perfect choice for a family outing and runs at Theatre Royal Brighton from Thursday 15 December 2011 to Saturday 14 January 2012.

It is harmlessly funny, very silly and has dancing, audience participation and, of course, great songs. ‘Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life’, voted the nation’s favourite song, is guaranteed to have children (aged eight and over), parents, teenagers and grandparents singing along.

Written by original Python Eric Idle and John du Prez, Spamalot is based on the story of King Arthur and his knights – think Horrible Histories crossed with Merlin. The show conquered both the West End and Broadway, winning a prestigious Tony Award and has been seen by a million people round the UK.

The cast includes Marcus Brigstocke (CBBC’s Sorry I’ve Got No Head, BBC’s Have I Got News For You, QI, Radio 4’s The Now Show;
The Railway Children at Waterloo Station), who plays King Arthur. Todd Carty (Tucker in Grange Hill and Tucker’s Luck, Mark in EastEnders, PC Gabriel Kent in The Bill) plays his hapless sidekick Patsy and Jodie Prenger (Winner of BBC’s I’d Do Anything, playing Nancy in the West End’s Oliver) plays Lady of the Lake. All three won rave reviews when the show visited Brighton last year.
Helping to make Christmas more affordable, Theatre Royal Brighton has a range of special ticket deals in place for Spamalot.

Family tickets start from as little as £59 for four tickets (available to families of all ages). Or take advantage of the new Teen Ticket, which offers a reduction of £10 per seat at all performances. This special price is valid for young people aged 12 to 19 (terms and conditions apply).

Spamalot is on at Theatre Royal Brighton, Thursday 15 December 2011 – Saturday 14 January 2012. To book tickets call 0844 871 7650 (bkg fee) or visit www.atgtickets.com/brighton
