Two crashes cause rush-hour delays on Brighton bypass
Two car crashes – half an hour apart – caused rush-hour delays on the A27 Brighton bypass this morning (Tuesday 29 November).
The first crash happened when an Audi TT travelling east left the road, went up the bank beside the road and ended up on its roof.
Sussex Police said that the man driving the car was not badly hurt in the accident which happened at about 7am between Hollingbury and Falmer.
At about 7.30am a woman driving a Ford Ka clipped the barrier. She was also reported to have emerged relatively unscathed.
Traffic was diverted via Coldean Lane.
A crew from South East Coast Ambulance Service and two crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service – from Brighton and Lewes – attended the scene.
