Duran Duran
From the moment he walked on stage, Simon Le Bon was in fine voice and for the entire performance didn’t disappoint for a second or fail to deliver to the fans, both young and not so young, despite injuring his vocal chords earlier in the year. Alternating tracks from their new album ‘All You Need Is Now’ with some of their classic singles including Planet Earth, Hungry Like The Wolf, Rio, and Wild Boys to name but a few, the formerly known “prettiest boys in rock” kept the audience on their feet for the entire evening. Roger Taylor, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Dom Brown also wowed the audience with instrumental solos. With a simple stage set up yet truly spectacular lighting effects and video footage, which was to be expected as in 1984 the band were early innovators with video technology in their live stadium shows, the energetic and enthusiastic crowd were left wanting more as the screams and shouts (some of them from those old enough to know better) proved.
