Attacker breaks man’s jaw in Hove street

A thug broke a man’s jaw in a street in Hove in what Sussex Police described as an altercation.

The attack happened at the southern end of Brunswick Place, Hove, last weekend, opposite the taxi rank.

Detective Constable Steve Amner, from Brighton and Hove CID, said: “We are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the attack and are particularly keen to speak to a taxi driver who approached the two men and spoke to them.”

The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

He had been wearing dark clothing, was aged in his early thirties and appeared to be of Arabic or North African in origin.

The attacker was described as white and aged in his mid twenties. He was wearing a black Calvin Klein three quarter length jacket and white T-shirt.

The incident happened at about 6.15pm last Sunday (11 December).
