Music: British Sea Power
Powering up for a new monthly residency!
Originally from the wilds of Cumbria, brothers Yan and Hamilton, along with Wood and Noble, eventually migrated to Brighton where they established themselves via the infamous Club Sea Power residency and catching the attention of Rough Trade who they are still signed to.
BSP has always been an inventive and hard-working band, working within the constraints of an essentially rigid indie-rock template. But by adding in touches such as Cumbrian wrestling, ‘30s fashion shows, lots of stage foliage, a penchant for stage diving, grid references, and a general love for all things countryside and pre-war, BSP has gradually built up a tremendously loyal fanbase, helped by the fact they can write a good tune or two.
BSP has now turned full circle by re-booting the idea of a monthly residency, this time called Krankenhaus, and which will feature BSP along with hand-picked guests each month.
Friday 6 January, The Haunt, 7.30pm–3am, £12.50
