Two men freed as murder is ruled out after death in Hove

Two homeless men who were arrested after a 51-year-old man was found dead in Hove have been released without charge.

Detectives suspected murder after the discovery of the man’s body at his flat in Brunswick Place, Hove, on Friday afternoon (6 January).

A post-mortem examination was held yesterday afternoon (Saturday 7 January) and as a result the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

The two men, aged 40 and 43, have been released from custody.

The dead man was known to Sussex Police and officers had been in touch with him the day before he died. Because of this, the Independent Police Complaints Commission was informed about his death.
