Howler

Last night presented the unique opportunity to see the ‘next big thing’ at the least likely venue.

Howler, the new saviours of guitar music, a genre apparently in constant need of rescue, took to the stage at The Green Door Store.

The Minneapolis youngsters energetically delivered their raucous brand of surf tinged rock-pop, strewn with influences well beyond their years.

Fronted by the scruffy-haired and likeable Jordan Gatesmith, the band blazed through ten tracks off their excellent debut album.

‘Wailing (Make Out)’, ‘This One’s Different’ and ‘Back of Your Neck’ were highlights in a set that shone very brightly indeed.
