Sea Monsters 2 – I’m Being Good, Negative Pegasus, Plague Sermon and Sea Bastard
The ‘loud’ day of One Inch Badge Records’ annual six-night jaunt celebrating the best of Brighton’s bands immediately revealed the great heavier music at the core of the city’s largely indie-centric scene. With the churning, low-end rumblings of gloriously silly-named doom-meisters Sea Bastard and intense prog-rockers Plague Sermon providing early quality, the genre-defying Negative Pegasus (featuring former My Device frontman Todd, still sporting that manic stare) raised the roof in a pounding burst of electronic, drums and guitar noise. Headlining, nineties grungers I’m Being Good provided a less rhythmic, though just as raucous, mix of Mudhoney stoner crawls and screamy guitar blasts, rounding this showcase off perfectly.
