Chris Addison – The Time Is Now, Again

Bringing together fans from his time in The Thick Of It, Mock The Week, Skins and his years as a touring stand-up comedian, Addison admitted that he has got to the point in his career where he is amusing himself as much as anyone in the audience. With this much diversity that’s probably a good idea, and with a sharp mind he jumped from European leaders to basketball to last year’s riots and to his own family life without always a huge amount connecting them. Always articulate and engaging, if not always articulated clearly – a shame to miss some of those thoughts due to diction – his funniest and most focused times were discussing his own family and the minutae of it, while at other times his distraction bordered on rambling. A clever mind with a fascinating full length family show itching to get out.
