Electric Soft Parade

Celebrating the tenth anniversay of their Holes in the Wall, the Brighton-born and raised Tom & Alex White are still, incredibly, not yet 30, and have already enjoyed/endured a lengthy career as musicians and songwriters, with varying degrees of success, but always with a passionate musical heart beating in all the right places. Holes In The Wall is a grand album of melodic/alternative psyche pop, good enough to be nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2002. Tonight doesn’t quite go to plan though as Alex is clearly upset at the poor monitoring, the band not quite able to get into the zone. Still, it sounds clear and punchy out front, and sing-along songs such as ‘Empty At The End’ and ‘Sleep Alone’ sock home. Things have come full circle for the boys, and there’s talk of a new album later in the year.
