Converted Brighton beach hut hosts leap year proposal
A Brighton nurse has converted one of the city’s iconic beach huts into a plush love shack to propose to her boyfriend.
Linda Garland took advantage of the leap year tradition that allows women to pop the question to their beloved, enlisting friends and family to help her secretly convert the beach hut into a pink-painted and heart-filled nest of love.
She then arranged to meet unsuspecting travel consultant boyfriend of three years, Tim Richardson, 46, at the hut in order to make him hers.
After accepting Linda’s offer of marriage, a delighted Tim was surprised by his mother and 20 of his cheering friends and family.
